MONSTER ENERGY® PRO CIRCUIT KAWASAKI RIDER GARRETT MARCHBANKS SCORES PODIUM FINISH IN COLORFUL COLORADO
Foothill Ranch, Calif. (May 4, 2025) - With prime weather and Mile High elevation, Monster Energy® Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Garrett Marchbanks fought hard for a third-place podium in the 250SX Main Event at Round 16 of the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross in Denver, Colorado. Drew Adams made his long-awaited return from injury and held his own with an eighth-place finish.
Qualifying kicked off Saturday morning in Denver for the Western Divisional 250SX Class, and the Monster Energy® Pro Circuit Kawasaki duo wasted no time showing speed with Marchbanks qualifying fourth and Adams sixth. In Heat 1, both riders launched strong starts off the gate, with Marchbanks grabbing the holeshot on his KX™250 and Adams just outside the top five. Marchbanks came under pressure early and went down after hitting a slick section of the track, remounting in ninth. Adams made the most of a tough moment on the technical track, executing smart passes and recording the fastest lap of the race. At the checkers, he crossed the line in third, with Marchbanks close behind in fourth.
In the 250SX Main Event in Denver, both riders started mid-pack, with Marchbanks in ninth and Adams in 12th as they navigated the opening rhythm sections. The tight, technical layout demanded precision, and Marchbanks immediately got to work, making quick passes and climbing into the Top 5 by the halfway point. Adams had a few early bobbles but quickly regrouped, finding his flow and clicking off smooth, consistent laps. As the race progressed, Marchbanks continued to charge, closing the gap on the lead group. With just a couple laps to go, he made a decisive move into third, securing a spot on the podium after a strong ride. Adams held steady through the final laps, finishing ninth and adding another top-ten result to his growing rookie season.
“Qualifying went well today, definitely one of my better sessions this season. I think I was top four in both sessions, so I felt good heading into the night. In the Heat Race, I got a great start, grabbed the holeshot, and was leading for most of the first lap until I hit a slick, unexpected wet spot and went down. I got back up and finished fourth, which gave me a decent gate pick for the Main. Going into the Main Event, I felt confident but didn’t quite get the jump I wanted off the gate. I had to make some quick passes early on. The track was tough to pass on—super one-lined in sections like the whoops and some tight rhythm lanes—so you had to be really dialed in with line choices and take advantage when guys made mistakes. A few riders went down, I kept pushing, stayed focused, and managed to work my way into third. I’m stoked to be back on the podium—two in a row on the West Coast, which I don’t think I’ve ever done before. Big thanks to the team and Broc Tickle for all the hard work. We’ll keep the momentum going into Salt Lake City.”

“Early on, I wasn’t feeling great—just trying to get back into the flow—but the team made some good changes as the day went on. I ended up P6 in qualifying, which was decent considering how I started. In the Heat Race, I got a good jump and finished P3, so that felt like a step in the right direction. In the Main Event, I got off to a somewhat decent start but made a couple of mistakes on the first lap and dropped back to 10th. I settled in, found my lines, and made a few passes to finish eighth. Not where I want to be, but it’s a good step forward after being off the bike. Just knocking the dust off and I’m ready to build on this next week.”
