Bluetooth® technology enables NEW Smartphone Connectivity, allowing riders to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly. Using the RIDEOLOGY THE APP smartphone application, you can do three key functions:
  • View vehicle information and check the latest status of your vehicle.
  • Keep a detailed riding log that can be played back for review. You can also view riding route, distance and time traveled.
  • Easily change vehicle settings before riding such as Ride Mode and Electronic Suspension.
RIDEOLOGY THE APP is not intended for use during vehicle operation. Only use RIDEOLOGY THE APP when the vehicle is not being operated and it is safe to do so.

NEW Highly
Durable Paint

  • Features a special top coat that allows certain types of scratches to repair themselves, enabling the paint to maintain its high-quality finish through normal wear
    and tear*.
  • Self-healing is achieved through microscopic soft and hard segments within the top coat to work like a chemical spring that creates a trampoline effect to absorb impacts.
*Paint recovery is not immediate and may take more than one week. The paint will not recover in the case of scratches caused by a coin or key, or zip fasteners.

Grip Heaters

Grip heaters add increased comfort on cold days, providing exceptional warmth.


Lights built into the shrouds help illuminate the road when cornering at night. Each of the three lights has a fixed direction and is activated based on lean angle. As the bike leans over, the lights come on in order, creating a wider illuminated path in the direction the bike is heading.

With both touring and town riding in mind, the Versys® 1000 SE LT+ is tuned for flexibility so it’s just as comfortable cruising at low-rpm as it is when ridden on winding roads in the mid-to high-rpm range.


  • The NEW liquid-cooled, DOHC 1,043cc engine offers superb throttle response, strong torque at all rpm, and an enticing intake howl.
  • Thanks to revised fuel injection settings, power delivery is more linear and smooth for easy control and maneuverability at low rpm.

NEW Electronic Throttle Valves

  • Electronic Throttle Valves enable the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to control the volume of both the fuel and air delivered to the engine, resulting in smooth, natural engine response and output.
  • Electronic Cruise Control is made possible also by the Electronic Throttle Valves. Maintain your desired speed with the simple press of a button. Not having to apply the throttle enables relaxed cruising while traveling long distances, contributing to its high level of riding comfort.

Assist & Slipper Clutch

  • Race-inspired clutch technology offers a light lever pull plus a back-torque limiting function.
  • When excessive engine braking occurs, the slipper cam relieves pressure on the clutch plates to help prevent the rear tire from hopping or skidding.

NEW powerful braking

  • NEW opposed 4-piston radial mount monobloc calipers grip large 310mm front petal discs for superb feel and powerful braking performance.
  • The highly rigid monobloc front brake calipers contribute to superb feel and potent stopping power.
  • Radial-pump front brake master cylinder also facilitates control and contributes to superb feel and linear increase in brake power when the lever is pulled.

Suspension + Sporty Wheels

  • Long-travel suspension delivers a smooth ride on imperfect roads, allowing you to ride with confidence on various road conditions.
  • Lightweight six-spoke 17” front and rear wheels, along with new Bridgestone Battlax Sport Touring T31 tires that offer improved grip and feel, contribute to superb cornering performance and sporty handling.

Advanced Electronics

Key enhancements bring Kawasaki’s finest electronics management technology to the Versys® 1000 SE LT+, resulting in precise chassis orientation awareness that assists a rider’s ability to adapt to a wide range of street riding conditions.

NEW Bosch® IMU

  • Adding Bosch’s compact Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to the Versys® 1000 SE LT+ allows an additional layer of precision to be added to the Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS).
  • Compact IMU monitors inertia along 5 degrees of freedom. Acceleration along longitudinal, transverse and vertical axes, plus roll rate and pitch rate are measured. The 6th degree of freedom, the yaw rate, is calculated by the ECU using Kawasaki's proprietary dynamic modeling software. Inputs from the IMU give the ECU software an even clearer real-time picture of chassis orientation.
  • Inputs from the IMU also support KTRC as part of Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, assisting riders to better trace their intended line through the corner.

Using the latest evolution of Kawasaki’s advanced modeling software and feedback including a compact Bosch® Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), the NEW Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF) oversees functions of KIBS and KTRC, and monitors engine and chassis parameters throughout the corner. From the entry, through the apex, to the corner exit, KCMF modulates brake force (KIBS) and engine power (KTRC) to facilitate smooth transitions from acceleration to braking, to assist riders in tracing their intended line through the corner.   • NEW Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) covers a wide range of riding conditions, offering enhanced sport riding performance and peace of mind while you’re out on the road.
  • When turned on, riders can select from 3 modes, allowing riders to choose the degree in which each mode intervenes during riding. Riders may also elect to turn the system off.
  • Mode 1 maximizes acceleration, mode 2 offers a balance between acceleration performance and grip and mode 3 provides rider reassurance by facilitating smooth riding on slippery surfaces.


  • Kawasaki’s supersport-grade high-precision brake management system is standard on the Versys® 1000 SE LT+. Utilizing the same base system used on the Ninja H2™, programming and settings are revised to suit the street performance parameters and the long-travel suspension of the Versys 1000 SE LT+.
  • In addition to the front and rear wheel speed sensors, KIBS also monitors brake caliper hydraulic pressure and various information from the engine ECU to deliver strong, reliable braking with natural feeling.
  • High-precision brake pressure control enables the hydraulic pressure to be modulated in much smaller increments than with standard ABS systems, conserving lever feel when KIBS is active and ensuring ABS pulses feel light.


  • The Versys® 1000 SE LT+ comes with two power modes: Full and Low, allowing riders to select power delivery to suit their preference and riding conditions.
  • Reduction of both power and throttle response varies according to engine speed (rpm), throttle position and gear position to make acceleration even smoother while maintaining natural connected throttle feeling.


The Versys® 1000 SE LT+ offers bright and white lighting via new twin LED headlamps and new LED taillight and license plate lighting.

KIBS compared to other
types of ABS

Kawasaki’s supersportgrade high-precision brake management system is now standard equipment on the Versys® 1000. This is the same base system used on the Ninja® H2 and Ninja® ZX™-10R, with programming and settings revised to suit the street performance parameters and long-travel suspension of the Versys 1000.

KTRC compared to other types of TRACTION CONTROL

Three modes cover a wide range of riding conditions, offering either enhanced sport riding performance or the peace of mind under certain conditions to negotiate slippery surfaces with confidence.

NEW Upper Cowling & Wider Fairings

  • The refreshed design of the upper cowl and surrounding bodywork conveys a strong Kawasaki identity, while also providing functional benefits. Revised upper cowling and wider fairings provide increased weather protection and greater comfort for longer rides.
  • While its primary purpose is functional, the chin spoiler below the headlamps adds to the aggressive look.

NEW Front fender

Revised front fender features increased protection for the fork inner tubes, while long, slim reflectors combine to a sporty look.


  • A compact, shorter muffler contributes to a tight aesthetic and detailed finish.
  • New connector pipes on the header connect 1-4 and 2-3 contributing to performance at all rpm.

Riding Position

  • A wide handlebar offers easy control and a natural grip, contributing to the rider’s relaxed, upright stance.
  • Low and forward footpeg placements also contribute to a spacious riding position.
  • Seat features thick urethane cushioning to provide all day comfort for rider and passenger.

Adjustable Windscreen

NEW windscreen is vented to smooth the airflow and reduce buffeting. A stepless adjustment system allows height to be tailored to rider preference from the rider’s seat (when stopped).

Clean-mount Saddlebag System

Allows the KQR™ 28-liter saddlebags to be easily attached and removed for increased convenience. The Versys® 1000 SE LT+ can accommodate both an accessory top case and the standard hard saddlebags simultaneously.
